SiteScanner the leader of external web monitoring in the Nordics, joins forces with ip-label and forms Europe's biggest player within the field of Quality of Experience (QoE).
With the merger SiteScanner goes from offering its customers services within external web monitoring to a complete set of services within the full spectrum of QoE. Now all communication channels towards the end user can be measured: web, telephony, mobile devices and TV using internal monitoring, passive monitoring and external monitoring with more than 100 measurement locations around the world.
SiteScanner will stay as a local actor in the Nordics, keeping its offices and personnel, thereby maintaining its high level of customer support. At the same time SiteScanner customers will enjoy the complete offering of services and cutting edge development from the ip-label group.
SiteScanner, headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, with a subsidiary in Helsinki, Finland, is bringing to the ip-label group over 200 new customers in a region that seamlessly completes ip-label’s geographical coverage Europe-wide.
The geographical strategy is clear: to strengthen the position of the leader in continental Europe with sales offices in Amsterdam, Helsinki, Madrid, Paris, and Stockholm while fleshing out its network of partners covering nearly every European country that has reached maturity in terms of QoE issues. After the induction phase, the Helsinki platform, traditionally close to the Baltic States and Russia, will enable an advance into those markets. With its Asian affiliate based in Shanghai, a partner in California, and a technical unit in Tunisia, ip-label’s sights are resolutely set on a “follow-the-Sun” approach.
Very similar offerings make teaming up an obvious outcome:
Alongside consultancy services (load testing, benchmarks, and implementation assistance), the ip-label group offers 3 complementary QoE measurement solutions in the domains of data, voice, image, and mobile.
- Cloud Observer, a passive monitoring solution that demonstrates the performance actually experienced by 100% of real users, whatever the usage context (terminal, browser, OS, geographical location, etc.).
- • Newtest, an active monitoring solution delivered in license mode, offers enterprises the possibility of managing their own private measurement network. Today over 3500 Newtest robots are operating the world over.
- • Datametrie, an active monitoring solution in SaaS mode which relies on a worldwide network consisting of over 80 measurement points.
“What appealed to us about ip-label is the complementarity of our offerings. We are going to move our customers to Datametrie technology, and we feel this transition will take place without the slightest hitch because our tools are so similar. At the same time, because of the breadth and depth of ip-label’s product lines, we are going to be able to provide many more measurement and reporting possibilities, for the greater satisfaction of our customers. With the Datametrie, Newtest, and Cloud Observer solutions, we will be able to offer the best solutions in the world for testing web 1.0 and 2.0 (rich internet), new generation streaming, all business applications including Citrix, SAP, and Oracle, but also interactive voice services (IVR), and television over IP (TVoIP),” explains Olle Bodelius, President of SiteScanner.
A well-defined acquisition plan
SiteScanner’s technical and sales teams were trained on ip-label offerings and tools over the summer of 2011. Priority is being placed on the setup of Datametrie measurement points throughout the whole of Scandinavia so the customers of the entire group can benefit from one of the largest shared measurement networks in the world. Next, each SiteScanner customer will receive assistance with the migration process from specialists from the two companies. Customer care, technical and sales assistance, of Scandinavian customers will be provided by the teams based in Stockholm and Helsinki. SiteScanner, a strong, renowned brand, will continue to be the group’s brandname in Scandinavia. “We have planned everything so that the transition will be a smooth one for everybody. The teams are meeting each other and exchanging a great deal at present. SiteScanner is being really positive about joining the ip-label group, and on our side, we are glad to welcome an extraordinarily professional team and, of course, new nationalities to our already very international group,” says Eric Varszegi, President and founder of ip-label.
About ip-label Around the world, ip-label solutions measure the quality of applications from the user’s point of view: business applications, as well as web, voice and even television over IP platforms. A trusted third-party with its own metrology infrastructure (nearly 200 million measurements every day) and independent institute, ip-label is sought out as much by world-class enterprises and their service providers to track the performance of their critical applications to give them a competitive edge, as by telecom operators and IT managers mindful of the robustness of their infrastructures. Beyond measurement, ip-label offers IT and operations executives its consulting expertise to accompany them in managing risks and cost reduction associated with the performance of business applications. ip-label, in addition to its metrology networks, has developed a network of sales and technical partners to ensure access to expected functionalities and consistent service levels everywhere in the world. www.ip-label.com
